How complaints are handled
What we publish, what we take down, and how long we take.
What roads.report publishes
Reports describe roads and the authorities accountable for them. We do not publish allegations about named individuals — not officials, not engineers, not contractors. A report that names a person is edited or withheld. This is a rule about what the product accepts, not only about what we intend, and it is the main reason a report gets taken down.
The clocks
- Every complaint is acknowledged when it arrives, within 24 hours.
- A decision is recorded within 15 days.
- Complaints about private information, impersonation or obscene content are acted on within 24 hours.
- A complaint alone does not hide a report. Withholding follows a decision, except in the categories above.

Grievance officer
Not yet appointed. A named officer, a postal address and a monitored contact address are required before roads.report is open to the public. Until then complaints are handled through the form and answered at the contact you leave.
